The Evolving Journey.
Bo Shappell is a middle school physical education teacher with over eleven years of experience. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology, a master’s degree in Education and is an ACE certified personal trainer. His passion is teaching others and inspiring our youth. He is a former middle school baseball, football and wrestling coach. Within the school district, Bo is on the SEL and wellness committees. He has piloted some successful programs from a fitness tracker challenge among faculty & students, a weight room mentorship for at-risk and disadvantaged youth and an evolved curriculum that integrates SEL and a growth mindset. He has given presentations to fellow health and physical education teachers on various topics and recently been awarded 2019 Lancaster, Lebanon, and Berks Middle School PE Teacher of the Year.
Daniella Land has a passion for an integrated approach to wellness and shifting perspectives. This led to her education in conflict resolution, international studies and anthropology. She spent time facilitating conflict resolution and self-awareness seminars with prison inmates. She is a certified yoga teacher who enjoys collaborating with corporate and education professionals to develop robust training and change management programs that foster growth mindsets and positive cultural shifts. Together they authored a book, ALL IN: The Mindset of Fitness. They are dynamic speakers who offer workshops and seminars regarding how to foster social & emotional learning in the classroom, mindfulness, and an “ALL IN” mindset. Bo and Daniella are both pioneers in identifying and developing a physical education curriculum that fosters self-awareness. Currently, they are writing a workbook titled, The Hidden Potential of PE to Foster SEL.
In their free time, they both enjoy traveling, spending time with family and friends, listening to podcasts, and taking care of their two dogs, Cali and Rome.
